Dr. Vijay Bansal
Dr. Vijay Bansal is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon with an illustrious career spanning 36 years, prominently serving the community in Thane for the past 33 years. As the director of Dr. Bansals Arogya Hospital, he oversees a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest medical technology, strategically located in the heart of Thane city.
Dr. Vijay’s expertise is enriched by his tenure at esteemed institutions such as Sir Gangaram Hospital in New Delhi, Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Sion, Mumbai, and Singhania Hospital in Thane. Presently, he extends his services as an affiliated consultant at Jupiter Hospital and Kaushalya Medical Foundation in Thane.

Dr. Uma Bansal
Dr. Uma Bansal is a renowned obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 36 years of expertise. She possesses a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of women’s health, serving the community for the past 33 years, particularly in Thane.
Dr. Uma completed her MBBS and MS in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Rajasthan University before furthering her knowledge in reproductive medicine at Kiel University, Germany. She augmented her skills with a fellowship in Genetics in Reproductive Science from ICMR in 2023.
As the Medical Director of Dr. Bansals Arogya Hospital and Arogya Fertility and IVF Centre in Thane, Dr. Uma leads a team dedicated to providing comprehensive care to women. Additionally, she serves as a visiting consultant at prominent institutions including Jupiter Hospital, Bethany Hospital, KMF Hospital, and Currae Hospital.
Active in professional circles, she contributes to the field as a member of prestigious organisations such as ESHRE, ISAR, and FOGSI. She also holds a position on the managing committee of the Thane Obstetric and Gynaecological Society.
Beyond her medical accomplishments, Dr. Uma is a multifaceted individual. She has showcased her talents as a trained classical Kathak dancer, cyclist, and avid trekker. Her passion for excellence extends beyond medicine, as evidenced by her past presidency of the Inner Wheel Club of Thane Hills.

Dr. Ankita Bansal
Dr. Ankita Bansal is a highly skilled and dedicated Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 7 years of specialised experience. After completing her MBBS from Rural Medical College, Loni, and her internship from Bombay Hospital in Marine Lines, Mumbai, Dr. Ankita earned her Masters in Orthopaedic Surgery from Sancheti Institute of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.
Her experience in Paediatric Orthopaedics has been further enriched by multiple fellowships, including an MUHS fellowship at Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children in Mumbai. She then received the prestigious POSI-Canadian fellowship which allowed her to attain the POSNA (Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America) fellowship from IWK Health Center in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, after which she went to the renowned BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada for another fellowship.
Dr.Ankita’s professional journey is marked by significant contributions to the medical field through both clinical practice and academic research. She has worked across various specialties in orthopaedics during her residency at Sancheti Hospital, Pune. She has been trained by the top paediatric orthopaedic surgeons in India, and has gained experience from institutes such as BJ Wadia Children’s Hospital, Mumbai, SRCC children’s hospital, Mumbai, Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore. She is a recipient of the K.E Wilkins Fellowship, and she was the First women orthopaedic surgeon from India to receive APOA young ambassadorship. Currently, she serves as a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at Dr. Bansals Arogya Hospital and MRR Children’s Hospital in Thane, Maharashtra. She is also attached to various other hospitals in Thane.
Her expertise is demonstrated through various scientific publications, including topics in Arthroplasty, Trauma, Pediatric Orthopedics, and Pediatric Spine. She has participated in training programs such as Good Clinical Practice, Ethics and research in the medical field as well as worked extensively with the HIPPY LAB and research labs at Vancouver. She has actively presented scientific papers and posters at numerous conferences and attended various workshops and CME programs to stay abreast of the latest advancements in her field. She has won best fellow researcher from the University of British Columbia, Canada for her topic on Developmental dysplasia of the Hip. Beyond her medical career, Dr. Ankita is engaged in several academic and extracurricular activities. She is on the executive council of WOICE (Women Orthopedic surgeon of India Collective Empowerment) and encourages young women to enter the field of surgery. An avid adventurer, she is an open sky pilot for paragliding, a level 3 salsa dancer, a backpacker, and an enthusiastic trekker. Dr. Aparna Nagpure
Dr. Aparna is a practising Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with 13 years of rich clinical experience. After completing MBBS from M.G.M. Medical College and Hospital in Aurangabad, she pursued post-graduate studies from the reputed Dr. Patankar Medical Foundation, Pune. She has received her Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine under the expert guidance of Dr. S Krishnakumar. She is a member of the renowned Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, London.

Dr. Shraddha Rathod
Dr. Shraddha Rathod brings over 8 years of diverse experience to her practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology. As an Assistant Professor at HBTMC and Dr. RN Cooper Hospital, Mumbai, and previously at JJ Group Hospitals, Mumbai, she adeptly managed high workloads, overseeing more than 3000 deliveries annually.
Dr. Shraddha performed a wide range of high-risk procedures, including c-sections for morbidly adherent placenta, multiple fibroid uteri, and multifetal gestations, alongside rare procedures such as vaginal tumour mass excision and debulking tumours. She also played a pivotal role in coordinating undergraduate student academics and addressing POSCO-related patient complaints.
Throughout her career, Dr. Shraddha has demonstrated a dedication to academic excellence and research. She completed her residency and earned her MS in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Grant Medical College, Mumbai, following her MBBS from KEM Hospital and Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College.
Dr. Shraddha has contributed to the field through publications like “Granulosa Cell Tumour of Ovary: Clinicopathological Study of Cases” and has presented papers at various conferences, including the 63rd AICOG conference and the 47th annual MOGS conference. Her thesis on correlating clinical features with endocrinological parameters in polycystic ovaries reflects her commitment to advancing understanding in the field.
Dr. Shraddha’s participation in training programs such as Good Clinical Practice further underscores her dedication to staying abreast of the latest developments in healthcare delivery and research methodologies.
In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Shraddha actively engaged with the Rotary Club of Mumbai to raise donations for the OB GYN department, showcasing her commitment to community involvement and healthcare advancement.
Dr. Puru Bansal
Dr. Puru Bansal, an esteemed neurosurgeon, holds an M.Ch. in Neurosurgery from NIMHANS, where he underwent comprehensive training at one of the Institutes of National Importance. With an extensive academic background, Dr. Puru completed a rigorous 5-year M. Ch. course post-MBBS, followed by six months of hands-on experience as a Senior Resident.
During his residency, Dr. Puru received specialised training in various aspects of neurosurgery, including traumatic brain injury management, brain tumour surgeries, vascular surgery, epilepsy surgery, and paediatric neurosurgery. He also gained expertise in skull base surgery, endoscopic neurosurgery, spinal tumour surgery, and pain management procedures. Notably, he excelled in the national-level quiz competition, earning the runner-up position for the Torrent Young Scholar Award.
Dr. Puru further honed his skills as a Senior Resident in Neurosurgery at KEM Hospital, Mumbai, where he played a pivotal role in managing the academic schedule and lectures for the M. Ch. student training program. His responsibilities also included organising mortality audit sessions for the Department of Neurosurgery at KEM. During this time, he gained additional exposure to various neurosurgical procedures, including open skull base surgery, vascular neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery, and paediatric spine surgery.
To set himself apart he underwent further training in the form of a Clinical Fellowship in Advanced Skull Base surgery and endoscopic brain surgery at the prestigious Osaka Metropolitan University Hospital, Osaka, Japan, under the tutelage of Dr. Takeo Goto.
Driven by a passion for innovation, Dr. Puru’s interests lie in minimally invasive brain and spine surgery, as well as epilepsy surgery. He has actively participated in cadaveric workshops on both open and endoscopic skull base neurosurgery, further enhancing his surgical expertise.
Dr. Puru’s journey in medicine began at Smt. Sulochana Devi Singhania School, where he completed his ICSE and ISC. He then pursued his MBBS at Topiwala National Medical College and BYL Nair Charitable Hospital, actively participating in various academic and extracurricular activities, including quiz competitions and symposia. Hera the Cat:
Some children might get to meet Hera the cat on their saturday visits to Dr. Ankita Bansal’s OPD. She is very friendly and allows good children to pet her. She is fully vaccinated, well groomed and maintained and does not come in contact with other parts of the hospital.
